Wae Rebo is a traditional village that located at 1.200 meters above sea level, isolated and mysterious. Village is composed of 7 seven houses, called as Mbaru Niang. The form of houses that a cone tapering upwards as life philosophy of Manggrainese in Wae Rebo Village.
Manggarainese believe that balance is represented by a circle. Thus, they constructed shape of houses followed circular patterns. Because of its’ unique UNESCO ASIA PACIFIC given status as Culture Heritage Conservation in 2012.
Besides, Wae Rebo is one of best and famous traditional village in Indonesia as culture tourism destination n. Since its’ existence until now has aged 1200 years and enter 20th generation that classified as oldest village in Flores island.
Societies who dwell in village are Manggrain tribe, majority of them are garden farmer get income from forest and garden produce, such as; coffee, clove, cocoa, forest honey, sandalwood, etc. This village is surrounded by craters, hills and societies’ garden and tree forest that giving incredible atmosphere during a day.
Tour to Wae Rebo is an enjoyment or sensation especially for the adventurers who love ecotourism. It is an exotic place that located in the top of Flores Mountain and in the middle forest that far from city, as an old saved village and exit till now of this modern era.
To reach the village by trekking or hiking cross the jungle, valleys, and slopes of mountain for 2 – 2 and half hours to arrive at village. As an enjoyment feel interested by tourist who like adventure, because it much challenge and need struggle to reach the village.

Day I
To be known if you are staying in Labuan Bajo and start the tour from there, you will use charter or rent car for 3 – 4 hours driving then be continued by trekking or hiking to the village for 2 to 2 and half hour. It better start drive from Labuan Bajo at 07.00 AM or after have breakfast at hotel.
On the way, you will stop in some spot for enjoy panorama or view while time rest. Before trekking you will stop at local restaurant in Dintor (a village is located only 20 minutes to the trekking area by car) have lunch at last around 13.00 PM.
After have lunch at local restaurant you will continue drive to Wae Lomba around 15 minutes, there will be car stop. Then you continue by local rent motorcycle to trekking area for less than 10 minutes. You will start hike or trek to Wae Rebo Village for 2 to 2,5 hours it depends how fast you walk.
After you reach village, firstly you will enter to the main traditional house of Mbaru Niang to get village chief permit and to give donation as a part of tradition. Then, local guide will bring you to rest house and have a local coffee or tea before exploring around village.
Local guide will explain to you about houses, place, tradition of local people, people daily life and story of village. After that you will explore village while enjoy panorama around make video and photos. When day is start to dark you back to rest house, prepare for bath. At 19.00 – 20.00 dinner, recreation and sleep time.
Day II
You wake up at 06.00 AM of second day prepare to have breakfast including Wae Rebo’s coffee as a special service of village, after you still have time to explore around village to enjoy morning day of village before leaving the village. At 07.30 AM.
Start to leave village walk down to car through same way and continue drive to Labuan Bajo. Driving for around 4-5 hours to Labuan Bajo, but in between you will have lunch on the way at around 1 pm. at Restaurant in Lembor.
After rest and lunch for more less 1 hour you then continue driving for 2 hours again arrive in Labuan Bajo at your hotel at around 3 PM. Tour End.
